- This Grassroots project was developed by Nathalie Vallée, Kindergarten teacher and John Palov,
Grade 6 teacher, with support from Nancy Coquard, RÉCIT-ETSB. It involved two classes in Heroes'
Memorial School, Cowansville, Québec and two classes in Drummondville Elementary School, both from
the Eastern Townships School Board. In their initiation to electronic portfolios and maintaining a
folder of their art work on the computer, students in cycle three (grade 6/7) created rubrics for
evaluating a piece of art work with their cycle one partners and developed lesson plans for
reflection and selecting items for the portfolios.
"The Bear" as art teacher!

Students in cycle three decided to create a teaching video "The Bear" using a life-size puppet to reinforce and teach the art skills they deemed important for cycle ones. This Grassroots project was developed by Nathalie Vallée, Kindergarten teacher and John Palov, Grade 6 teacher, with support from Nancy Coquard, RÉCIT-ETSB and Berry Rosenberg, Artist-Puppeteer.
