Human Rights Education
Resource Collection

"Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,"  Source:  Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The BAL: CITIZENSHIP AND COMMUNITY LIFE includes the notion of the ADOPTION OF A CULTURE OF PEACE, and lists amongst its suggestions that students "reflect on the concept of power", gain "awareness of the interdependence of individuals, generations and peoples" and that they "learn about the application of the principle of equal rights".

To help teachers wishing to focus on Human Rights Education in their classroom, LEARN has begun two collections of resources.  The first is a featured resource collection on the organization Equitas.  The second collection (below) are simply all resources so far identified as useful in Human Rights Education in general.

Note:  A image next to a resource may mean you need to access it via another means.  (If it is a Discovery Education video, log in to LEARN, access Vodzone area through your My LEARN Homepage, then search the video in question at Discovery.)
