Elvis Cepuš
Dr. Elvis Cepuš is a forensic engineer who works for MEA Forensic in Vancouver,
British Columbia. He conducts failure analyses on a variety of component and machine failures.
Examples are metallic and plastic plumbing and fire protection system components, ladder mishaps,
transmission bearings, metallic and plastic fastener failures, and automotive component failures.
In his interview, he describes a bicycle seat failure case that he investigated and talks about
what a job in forensic engineering entails.

Jennifer Jager
Jennifer Jager has 20 years of experience in federal government communications, working
in media relations, parliamentary affairs, public affairs and emergency communications. Jennifer is
currently a Senior Communications Advisor in Marketing and Outreach at Public Safety Canada,
focused primarily on the Department’s emergency preparedness social marketing campaign and
strategic marketing partnerships. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Mass Communications
from Carleton University. In her interview, she talks about the role of a communications advisor
and a social marketing campaign called “72 hours – Is Your Family Prepared?”

Nicole Roch
Nicole Roch has been a crown attorney for the Manitoba Department of Justice in Winnipeg for the past two years and specializes in cases involving domestic violence. Prior to that, she had a private practice as a defence lawyer. Rachel Topps Colman has enjoyed working as a Speech Language Pathologist for 15 years. She received an honours degree from McMaster University in 1994 and a Master of Speech Sciences in 1996 from the University of British Columbia. Rachel lives in Ottawa with her husband and 3 children. is a registered massage therapist, practicing at Westboro Physiotherapy in Ottawa, Ontario. She
uses her training to treat athletic injuries, overuse/ repetitive strain injuries, myofacial
issues, muscle imbalances, TMJ syndrome and a variety of other conditions and ailments. In her
interview, she describes some of the challenges of massage therapy and explains why she loves her
job.

Smith has been an electronics technologist at the Communications Research Centre, a division of the
Federal Government that is based in Ottawa, for 16 years. He specializes in communications
equipment prototyping and integration. In his interview, Tyler talks about leaving engineering for
a more hands-on technologist program and how he wishes he had more time for learning on the job.
