On-Task
This section contains documents and tools to support the development
of the POP program.
• On-task activities help
students carry out a plan and document the information they are collecting about their career of
choice.
• There are many ways to be on-task in a POP classroom including interviewing experts, trying out a task in a Tool kit, searching through the Web or library, visiting a location -- and so on.
• While on-task, students are documenting their learning in various ways using graphic organizers, a journal book or electronic documents in a Blog or portal space. Students need guidance to help them to learn how to validate resources, compare points of view or to develop organization strategies for keeping track of their explorations--and so on. Short activities that target these various aspects of being on-task will be required.
• While on-task, students may find that they need to return to their career exploration plan and make adjustments, or that they have found a tangent interest to explore, or even a brand new interest. This is fine and part of the POP program and the learning process.
