Storysacks Canada supports literacy in families. (Elem. Cycles 1, 2 and 3)

The project investigates innovative and cost-effective ways of encouraging the love of reading and the learning of any subject matter using a storysack approach as a spring board and the Internet as a sharing tool. A Storysack includes a good children's book and lots of activities to bring reading to life. It is a fun way for children and adults to read together. Storysacks are not bought from stores; they are made by the community.

This Web resource about oceans is written to be adaptable to the teacher's needs. It can be used as a complete unit, as a module for inclusion in a larger study or each component can be used independently. The activities are sorted by the book they compliment but could be used with any unit on the ocean. A variety of activities offer something for almost every cycle.
