English Language Arts and Social Sciences Bibliography
This site was facilitated by Pat Machin, Research Consultant, and Diana Kinach, Education Specialist, Riverside School Board. It was funded by a MELS (Québec Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sport) Professional Development grant and an ELA Site-based grant (Abigail Anderson - MELS DGFJ)
An English Language Arts and Social Sciences Bibliography for High School Students and Teachers: This is a comprehensive list of titles that will be added to and updated regularly. It was created by Judith Elson, Jens Holm, Nadine Maglia, and Rosemary Tucci, four Riverside School Board teachers from Centennial Regional High School, Greenfield Park who spent many hours doing what they loved to do - haunting libraries, book stores and web sites and reading books. The importance of this site lies in the detailed descriptions they wrote for each text.

The Book Ladies' List of Students' Favourites
Created by Louise Bourque and Gwen Johnston, Kahnawake Survival School, Québec/2001. Louise and Gwen are referred to as "The Book Ladies" as a result of their enthusiasm for sharing resources with members of the Secondary Language Arts Advisory Council. It was natural that a colleague referred to them when asked for book suggestions for teenagers. As a result, a list of suggestions was created and shared once again with the committee. Louise and Gwen have graciously offered to make their list available to a wider audience using this website.
