English On-Line New Zealand
Part of an ongoing English professional development contract between UNITEC Institute of Technology and the New Zealand Ministry of Education. The units are the main part of this extensive site which also includes many links to other internet resources and projects as well as a discussion list for English teachers. Includes well developed reading and writing resources.

Lesson Planet  - Search teacher reviewed online lessons and inspire student learning with innovative lessons and ideas.

Library and Archives Canada
Access collections, images, archives and services. For the classroom, find educational resources, Canadian learning projects, the Canadian Children's Literature Service and Canadian information organized by subject. The site provides other valuable information about the use of primary sources in the classroom.

Picturing Books - This site is all about picture books, from reviews to interactive activities to explore picture book elements to downloadable storyboards to plan your own picture books and much more. A great site to explore.

ReadWriteThink
This site is a partnership between the International Reading Association (IRA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the MarcoPolo Education Foundation.
Educators and students are provided with access to the highest quality practices and resources in reading and language arts instruction through free, Internet-based content.A must visit for teachers of English Language Arts and those interested in developing the highest literacy standards.

Saskatoon Public Library Literature and Writing Resources  - A valuable source of Canadian work. A composite of resources for teachers and students, primarily at the secondary level. Well worth taking the time to browse.

The Internet Public Library Youth Division - Reading Zone  - A multitude of links with easy access to information, references, subject and special collections along with space for kids and teens. An excellent resource!

ThinkQuest Library: Books and Literature  - The ThinkQuest Library consists of more than 5000 sites that were built by kids for kids. The Books and Literature section contains ThinkQuests in many English Language Arts categories. As well as being sites for learning, they are rich in ideas for teachers.

Web English Teacher  - A vast set of resources for all areas of English Language Arts. Focus on research, I-search and multi-genre writing. Includes a set of general resources for children's literature and reading. A site well worth visiting and taking time to peruse.
