Creating demonstration posters

To facilitate the understanding of how to use the exercise balls.

This project, consist to promote a better use of the popular exercise balls in the gymnasium or the weight room. These balls are often misused by many students and can lead to some major injuries.

A physical education and health teacher and his class have explored various ways to utilize the exercise ball. To help them explore the many movements that can be performed on the ball, the class had access to diverse resources such as; books, web sites…

After exploring the movements and doing some research. The students created demonstration posters explaining the different movements that can be performed on the ball.

In the gymnasium, the students used a digital camera to take pictures of themselves performing their selected exercises on the ball. Following this activity, the students worked in the computer lab to transfer their photo images and to type up the text which will be found on the posters.

The students that will now exercise in the gymnasium or weight room will be able to find the following information on the posters: a picture will demonstrate the movements to be performed, the name of the exercise will be written in big, the muscles involved will be highlighted, guidelines and cues to perform the movement correctly and alternatives and add-ons to this exercise.
