This project consists of making a computer accessible in the gymnasium, in order for students to enter various results associated with physical performances. In an autonomous way, one student can enter the data and at the same time compare it to previous results.
Below, is an example of the steps to be used in order to create this project at the elementary school level:
(The images are originating from the original RECITDP project page.)
1- A computer available in the gymnasium:
The teacher will make sure that the computer is easily accessible for all students. The computer is place on a wheeled table or cart, to facilitate the traveling from its storage area.
2- The students make a link between how they have used a computer in the past and how they will use it now in the gymnasium:
The teacher briefly explains how to enter the marks on the computer. Students already have used a computer in the past. Therefore making the learning of new software easy.
3- Physical activities:
Each student will perform the physical activity in front of a peer, who will write down the results and help their partner to execute the movement correctly.
4- Entering results:
In an autonomous way, each student will enter their results and compare if needed to previous performances.
