Description:
This project consists of making available a DVD player and TV, near or in the gymnasium, to demonstrate various motor skills available on a DVD. In the learning stage, students will be able to access and view the various demonstrations on a certain skill. These demonstrations are preferable performed by students of the classroom or school. The goal is to make the students autonomous of their learning by making many resources available to them for that purpose. Various sports can be demonstrated on a DVD such as, jump rope skills, circus skills, gymnastics, soccer and many more.
The students will be able to choose the sequences they wish to view and learn more about it by using the DVD menu screen. Therefore, they will be able to acquire the various principles associated with the skill, to learn it more efficiently. They will also be able to explore various ways to achieve the skill. Hence, this DVD will become an excellent supplemental resource to facilitate learning. Just like a peer evaluation, a teacher feedback or a descriptive poster, this DVD can help the student understand quickly where to improve to acquire mastery of the skill.
How to realize this project:
1- Make available a DVD player and TV, near or in the gymnasium.
2- Instruct the students on how to use the TV and DVD player.
3- Encourage the students to view the sequences of their choice as often as needed.
Equipment needed:
- DVD player and TV
- Computer that can read DVD’s and a projector
Added value:
- The students will become efficient at using the DVD menu screen.
- Students will have access more easily to various demonstrations.
- The students will develop their autonomy which will make the teacher more available to students.
