Henry J. Landon

Henry J. Landon

Henry J. Landon of Montreal tried to enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force to serve his country. As he relates it he was given the "royal run around" being told on one occasion that only Whites need apply. He persisted, however, and was finally accepted in November 1939. He spent more than five years with the R.C.A.F. during which time he saw very few airmen of African descent.
