Anne Claire Cools

Born in Barbados, Anne Clare Cools came to Canada in 1957 and attended Thomas D'Arcy McGee High School and McGill University. She was a student activist and participated in the Sir George Williams computer crisis. Later she became active in many Toronto community groups and became a member of the Canadian Senate, representing the Liberal Party of Canada.

Dr. Maurice Euegene Bourne

Montreal's first Black dentist, Dr. Bourne practised from 1950 to 1985. He did wartime service in the Dental Corps and later established a free dental clinic at the Negro Community Centre. Dr. Bourne was an active member of the Montreal Negro Alumni Group and the Montreal Dental Centre, and was dental consultant to the Sun Life Insurance Company.
