This software is part of Apple's iLife package. It comes installed on new computers, but can be purchased for older computers (needs System X.3). Looplabs Online Mixer
 This award winning site has an online mixer that allows you to manipulate up to 32 separate sound channels. You can load your mix onto the server and let anyone who accesses the site listen to your creations.

Cubase

Audacity
This is open source software that can be installed on a computer. It allows you to record your students' creations. They can edit, add tracks and publish them as mp3 files.
