To introduce robots and what they are, Jane Gravel focused on non-fiction reading. As a reading response activity, the children then dictated what they had learned about robots and created an Information Wall for all the school to see.

They learn the building block for writing a "programming sentence" by solving the basic challenges.  Then, they develop their own challenges. They discover and express their personal understanding of the programming elements and how to assemble them. Cycle 1 students. (1 m 48 sec)
