American Library Association
The American Library Association is the largest library association in the world. ALA offers professional services and publications to memebers and nonmembers.
Association of Teachers of English in Quebec (ATEQ)
Membership offers the ATEQ magazine, sponsorships of visiting poets or authors to your school, an opportunity to share ideas about teaching and learning with colleagues from across the province.
Blue Metropolis  
Blue Metropolis Foundation is a registered non-profit organization that was established in 1997 to advance education in literature and related arts. Numerous activities are organized throughout the year, including the celebrated Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival. Visit their site regularly to keep up to date on Montreal's literary events.
Canadian Children's Book Centre
This organization is dedicated to promoting, supporting and encouraging the reading, writing and illustrating of Canadian books for children and teens.
Canadian Children's Literature Service
From the National Library of Canada and National Archives of Canada. The Canadian Children's Literature Service offers advisory, reference, and bibliographic services based on the Canadian Children's Literature Service Collection.
 
Canadian Council of Teachers of English Language Arts (CCTELA)
The CCTELA is a national organization of affiliates from across Canada dedicated to the teaching and learning of English language arts in Canada. The association publishes English Quarterly and the CCTELA News Update.
Canadian Library Association
CLA members work in college, university, public, special (corporate, non-profit and government) and school libraries. CLA provides a wide variety of services and programs.
CBC Children's Book Council
This non-profit trade organization encourages literacy and the use and enjoyment of children's books, and is the official sponsor of Young People's Poetry Week and Children's Book Week each year.
 
The Centre for Literacy of Québec
The Centre for Literacy is committed to supporting and improving literacy practices in schools, community and workplace. It is dedicated to increasing public understanding of the changing definition of literacy in a changing society. International Reading Association
An important association for all teachers - not only those directly connected to Language Arts. A great variety of resources are available including international projects, literacy links, reading online, an online bookstore and more.

The Québec Library Association (ABQLAL)
Also - l'Association des bibliothécaires du Québec The ABQLA, a non-profit voluntary association of library personnel and friends in the province of Québec, provides a network for its members' mutual support. It services the community through education, advocacy and communication.
 
The Reading Recovery® Council of North America
A not-for-profit association of Reading Recovery professionals, advocates, and partners. The Council provides a network of opportunities for leadership and professional development. It is an advocate for Reading Recovery throughout North America.
