Below is a list of agencies, government departments and community organizations that could support initiatives within your school community.

  • Les Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi du Québec

    Carrefour Jeuness-Emploi (CJE) are community organizations through out Québec that are involved in partnerships with private and community organisations, in addition to institutions serving different milieu. CJE's assists youth aged 16 to 35 old at no cost in discovering their interests, aptitudes and skills within the context of job, career or academic environment. They also provide support for summer and full-time employment.

    A list of where your Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi is located can be found on their website. Some offices have their own websites. Visit your local office to discover what unique programs and workshops are tailored to youth in your community. Find out whether your office can develop projects for your schools or school board.

  • Emploi-Québec

    Emploi-Québec offers their services to individuals 18 years and older (some offices support individuals as young as 16 years). Emploi-Québec provides public employment services to workers and people who are unemployed that meet individual needs and labour market challenges. Your local office has resources and information that may be of interest. Contact your local office for more information.

    Human Resources and Social Development Canada's mission is to enable Canadians to participate fully in the workplace and the community. This is fulfilled through a wide variety of program and services in their local offices. Visit their website or your local office for more information.

  • Centres locaux de développement du Québec

    On this site you will find information about the Association des centres locaux de développement du Québec (ACLDQ), in addition to information on the mission and services offered by the Centre local de développement (CLD) in your area. CLD supports small businesses and encourages entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship including not for profit organizations. Call your local CLD to learn how they support economic development in your area and how they are or could be involved with your school and school board.

  • La Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec

    La Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec is made up of affiliated members and representation all business sectors. The Chamber of Commerce contributes to the economic development and encourages entrepreneurial initiatives through leadership, representation and action. Contact your local Chamber of Commerce for more information and to learn how best they can support your initiatives.

  • Centre de Développement Économique et Communautaire (CDEC)

    CDEC's "mission is to support and maintain economic and social development in the district by empowering the stakeholders (private, community, labour union, institutional, local population) with tools adapted to their situation". Services include job counselling, entrepreneurship support, and support of projects that service the citizens of their territory. Contact your local CDEC office in your area to see how they could be involved with your school or school board.

  • The Réseau des SADC du Québec

    The Réseau des SADC du Québec "is a group of non-profit organizations that focuses on economic and social regional development, assisting rural Québec communities or those located in semi-urban areas". Visit the site to learn more about their involvement in the their communities.

Research what organizations in your community have to offer. Check out your local YMCA, Junior Achievement (http://www.jequebec.org) and other organizations.
