Trades exploration with Career Cruising
Bryna Gelman from Career Cruising has identified semi-specialized trades within the directory of trades available in Career Cruising. Here is the list of trades, Career Cruising features associated with the Preparation to the Job Market competencies only and a sample MatchMaker questionnaire and descriptions.
 
Here are some guidelines to when exploring Career Cruising with WOTP students:

1) Students should click on the blue question mark above beside the question for a more detailed description so they know what they are answering.
2) Students should complete the questions first on paper where they might have more time to think about the questions, then head to the computers to click on their answers.  (I have attached a paper copy of the first 39 questions to this email along with the more info document). 
3) If you still find that Career Matchmaker is not suiting your students' needs, the Career Selector tool enables students to select specific critera.  This can be found under the main “ Careers” menu.

As with the previous 16+ certificates, you need to write a formal letter to the Direction de la sanction des etudes requesting the certificates.  The most recent Sanction des Etudes Administrative Manual describes the process on pages 74-75.  The title and address of the person to write to are in Appendix 1 of the Manual.  You should do this in conjunction with your designated Sanction person.  A copy of the Administrative Manual can be found online at: http://www.mels.gouv.qc.ca/Sanction/guides.htm
