Entrepreneurial culture in the schools

Here are a new document on developing an entrepreneurial culture in the schools
(1) Information available to participate in an orientation session on Co-operative Entrepreneurship.






Resources to implement an entrepreneurial culture or activities in a school or a centre

Prepared by Miranda Oprisan, Provincial Youth Entrepreneurship Officer for the Youth Sector has compiled materials for the GOAL Network.

Here are resources for teachers and professionals to implement activities related to an entrepreneurial culture in the school
1)  Evaluation of existing Entrepreneurship Resources for school teams
     These include the National Entrepreneurship Guide, The Incubator Project, the Guide:  Comment contaminer les jeunes au plaisir d'entreprendre!  and Entrepreneurship Toolkit developed by the Réseau des CJE.
 2)  A resource list for those interested in starting a project or an activity
 3)  National Entrepreneurship Day - Resource Document for Regional Committees  (PDF version).
 4)  National Entrepreneurship Day 2010 - Appendices to the Resource Guide for the Regional Committees
 5) The website National Entrepreneurship Day, project plan for National Entrepreneurship Day, an introductory letter and a list of references for the school team

Here is a copy  of the Guide on Entrepreneurship: Comment contaminer les jeunes au plaisir d'entreprendre!  developed by  COOPSCO, the CJEs from the Montréal region in collaboration with the commissions scolaires de Montréal, Pointe-de-l'Île et Marguerite-Bourgeoys.







NED Facilitator's Toolkit

Here is the National Entrepreneurship Day Facilitator's toolkit developed by the Réseau des CJE, Community Table, CEDECs, CLC Network and the GOAL Network.  This is a toolkit for teachers, coordinators, videoconferencing facilitators and employers. Action Research for Community Problem Solving Approach

Attached you will find an article on the Action Research for Community Problem Solving Approach which advocates for environmental and citizenship education (PEEC).  I will be receiving brochures in English for the next GOAL Networking meeting.



The Metro initiative on green projects

The Green Apple School Program is a Metro initiative created to encourage conservation and healthy living. Metro has invested $1 million into the program, and beginning this Fall, will provide hundreds of $1,000 grants to primary and secondary schools with big ideas for green projects in their communities. If your school has a green project in mind, like tree planting or a zero-waste lunch, submit it today. The grants could be awarded as soon as late October and early entries will have the best chance of being chosen, based on a first-come first-served approach. Get your school involved in the Green Apple School Program today and make a difference in your community.





Toolkit on Entrepreneurship

Action Plan for 2010 - 2015 - Leadership, Responsibility, Creativity, Autonomy, Solidarity, are all values upon which an entrepreneurial culture in built. Promoting entrepreneurship can foster attitudes, skills and abilities that are equally beneficial for tomorrow's entrepreneurs as they are for future employees and citizens. http://www.jeunes.gouv.qc.ca/strategie/publications.html


Inviting schools to participate:
An example would be; Designing and disseminate tools to promote awareness about entrepreneurship within the context of school curricula at the primary, secondary and college levels.

Creating a favorable environment:
An example would be; creating a network of resource advisors that promote youth entrepreneurship awareness all across Quebec. The Incubator Project is online for students

 
The Incubator Project - a hands-on guide to starting any project by dentifying the group's strengths and roles. It is developed by Sam Asmar from the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi de l'Ouest-de-l'île. Students can get ideas for new projects, create links to other schools in Quebec that might be doing something they'd like to do or get involved with. Once you are at  321incubator.com - you just have to click the submit button and then mention your school, project and results.  Students share pictures that demonstrate your project, event, product, etc.
