In this section, you will find contest and means for funding with respect to GOAL and related topics. Since there is no longer a measure for GOAL, GOAL is an integrate approach within the curriculum and including the Career development Subject area, the Personal Orientation Program, Exploration of Vocational Training, Entrepreneurship and the Work-Oriented Training Path Program as well.

Additional government measures for support for the regions exist - projects to keep youth in school, to support their transition to the world of work, etc. Check out your local Emploi-Québec, Human Resources Social Development Canada, etc., for collaborative project ideas. Following are some examples:

  • Secrétariat aux affaires autochtones du Québec (SAA)

    Rencontre culture-education is one of the funding programs available from the SAA. This program supports the use of community cultural resources in schools.

  • Ministère de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie Québec

    In the the heading of Science and Technology and then the subsection Programs and Services find Assistance for the promotion of scientific culture and the emergence of the next generation in science and technology. This program is designed for educational institutions and others to promote careers in science and technology, development of scientific and technical culture, and dissemination of structuring products.

  • Human Resources and Skills Development Canada

    HRSDC has grants and contributions programs to help Canadians. Visit the site to read about programs for youth and educational organizations. It may help to use the search engine and enter "Partnership Initiatives and Funding Programs"

Funding and Grants

  • Apply NOW for ECO Canada Scholarships
    The deadline for ECO Canada's scholarship applications has been extended to June 15th, 2010.
    Four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to Canadian high school students entering into their first year of post-secondary education. The top applicant will also earn the Edit Petrovic Memorial Scholarship, receiving an additional $2,500.
    Scholarships will be awarded to students who:
    - Submit a short environmental essay (400 words) about their values, leadership and vision
    - Provide a reference letter on their involvement in the community regarding environmental issues
    - Have been accepted into an environmental program at a Canadian post-secondary institution
    - Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

  • Call for Submissions 2010 Global Best Awards from the Conference Board of Canada.  The Global Best Awards celebrate outstanding and effective business and education partnerships that have a signficant impact on the communities in which they operate. Four winners will be selected internationally and honoured at the 10th International Education Busines Partnership Conference on April 25th to 28th 2010 in Toronto.
     Applications should relate to one of the following categories:
    1) Building Learning Communities
    2) Developing Skills for Future Workforce
    3) Promoting Health and Well-Being of Children and Youth in Education

  • ARTSMARTS
    ARTSMARTS funding initiative to create an art project with a team of artists and teachers.  Attached you will find a description on ARTSMARTS as well as a copy of the funding form.

  • National Technology Innovations Awards
    National Technology Innovations Awards is giving an opportunity to educators to get recognition for their exceptional IT project or development. The deadline to apply is March 6th, 2009. Please see flyer attached for more details.

  • Bourses Jeunesse Raymond-Blais

    80 bursaries of 750$ pour young Canadians aged from 18 to 30 years of age, residing in Quebec or members of the Caisse Desjardins from Ontario are eligible to apply for this bursary.  The deadline to submit your candidature is November 20th, 2009.

    GrassRoots Collaborative Learning for the Internet is a program designed "to promote and facilitate the effective integration and use of information and communications technologies (ICT) in the classroom."   • The Canadian Council for the Arts

    The Canada Council for the Arts offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations. Currently none of the grants are for youth.
