Exploring vocabulary, the sound aspect of language, playing with words and
exploring reading and writing are all part of the things children do in Kindergarten. Discovering
the alphabet in one form or another is something that happens in most classes. Alphabet Adventure
Gallery is a different way doing this. In this project, children in your class will contribute to
the creation of a "Multimedia Alphabet book" (sound and pictures). Of course, they will use
technology as a tool to do it.
The resulting set of Alphabet Books is interactive, which means that the students can visit them to see/hear their work. They also get to see everyone else's work, as the entire collection of Alphabet Books will be full of pictures and sounds. While exploring the site students become better acquainted with the alphabet and they learn the conventions and symbols associated with computers (mouse, monitor, keyboard, symbols used to navigate on a web page, etc.)

This is a " Learn-by-Doing " Project in which participants can benefit from the guidance and help of the coordinator to learn the skills they need as they go along. To begin with, you simply need to know how to send and receive E-mail and how to reply to an E-mail message. The rest you will learn as you participate in the project. Support will be given by me via email and in person from your local RECIT consultant. To find out more about the RECIT and who the local RECIT consultant is in your board click here: RECIT
