Description:
I offer you to join a French project of a monthly pupil-written e-mail newsletter among 10 secondary classes (colleges and/or lycée, secondary or high school) throughout the world. Each school will receive letters from the other participants in return for its own contribution during the whole school year.

The Question: : The aim being to develop a knowledge of the world and its people through reading, writing, social studies and technology. Thus our students will learn about young people their own age and discover the similarities and differences between themselves and their new friends, their living conditions, the teaching they receive. We teachers could also learn from each other and each other's projects done in classroom, the curriculum, units etc...

The action: The rules are that the pupils in each class involved commit themselves to send a newsletter on the 15th of each month during eight months, dealing with themes chosen for the year.

Sharing: The documents will all be used in the English class since they have to be written in English. The themes, chosen among the interests of pupils, will be set definitively at the beginning of the year. The contribution for April is left to the choice of the classes and the teachers. A list will be sent out at the beginning of September 2000 with the classes in each group together with the themes. .

Schedule: This project starts with the first letter due in October 2000.

October : our class introduces itself.
November : a typical day at our school.
December / January : our holidays and celebrations.
February / March : our collections, hobbies, pastimes and interests.
April : free contribution.
May : our summer plans.
