What kind of activity is right for me ?
You could classify projects into two broad categories that give some indication of the degree of
complexity of an activity or the level of involvement you can expect it requires. Whatever level of
difficulty, make sure that you can fit the activity into your curriculum INSTEAD Of, not ON TOP OF
your usual lesson plans. |

Fast Food Activities are:
- Short, quick-paced, easy to serve and to digest;
- Often focused on a single aspect of a curriculum area.
- Sometimes game-like;
- Adapted to a variety of teaching styles and classroom integration strategies;
- Can support different levels of involvement and participation without compromising the
project's success;
- Does not require lengthy computer use or Internet access;
- E-mail is a door for receiving and sending work that is class and activity centred;
- Great for beginners but not only for them.

Gourmet Projects:
- Take time to plan, to prepare, to serve and to savour;
- Often project-based, cross-curricular, multi-disciplinary and real-life;
- Sometimes require that participants share a vision of objectives and process or follow
specified instructions;
- Often requires a strong commitment on the part of each participant to complete a share of the
work, otherwise compromising the success for all;
- Centred on process more than on product;
- Will replace the usual teaching fare in the class;
- Require good computer skills as it often involves more lengthy use of word processors or other
software;
- Require a certain amount of experience in classroom computer management.
