Inclusive Education Service
The Inclusive Education Service is a
provincial support network designed to build the capacity of English School Boards to serve their
students with special needs in inclusive settings.
Funded and mandated by the MELS, the IES
is managed for the English School Boards by the Inclusive Education Service Management Committee
(IESMC).
Mandate
1. Support to Schools & Boards in their Adaptation of Services:
Strategic planning to promote successful inclusion;
Development and use of an IEP;
Provincial networking.
2. Continuous Professional Development
Training that focuses on developing the capacity of school and / or Board personnel.
3. Research & Development Activities
Help advance expertise in each centre's area of specialty;
Support the design and implementation of innovative projects.
4. Contribution to Provincial Expertise
The centres are regularly called upon by the MEQ to contribute provincially.
