Rubric Types

There are three essential rubrics: descriptive; numerical; and weighted-numerical. The look varies but the goal to authentically assess students' work remains the same.

Descriptive: Used as an instruction and information tool

Respects teammates Never allows others to speak - drives conversation. Does most of the talking - rarely allows others to speak. Talks often - allows others to speak - does not always listen. Listens and speaks in turn. x3  
Fulfillment of duty and role Does not take role seriously - does not fulfill duty. Takes role a little seriously - fulfills some duties. Takes role seriously - fulfills most duties. Takes role very seriously - fulfills all duties. x2  
Co-operation with teammates Usually argues with others. Sometimes argues with others. Rarely argues with others. Never argues with others. x1  
Punctuality Does not hand in any assignment. Hands in most assignments - often late. Hands in all assign-ments - most on time. Hands in all assignments - all on time. x1  
Decision making Always wants things his/her way - never considers others. Often sides with friends instead of considering all views. Usually considers all views. Always considers all views and works toward fair decisions. x3 aba

Theory:

Rubrics were originally developed in the arts and apprenticeship systems where assessment is performance based.
