The CSLP and LEARN are organizing a one day 2009 Learning Toolkit Institute to be held in Montreal on October 30, 2009. Having as a theme Train the Trainers, the Institute aims to encourage the use of evidence-based practice in schools, demonstrate how authentic ABRACADABRA/ePEARL Level 1 links can be made for literacy and self-regulation development, and increase the use of the Learning Toolkit across Canada.

The attached invitation is being sent to all the English school board pedagogical and special/complementary services departments, along with the local RECIT. We encourage you to forward this to your special needs, ELA or literacy consultants, and/or lead teachers within your board. Ideally participants should be interested in becoming a trainer (or lead teacher) within a school, region or school board.

Please note that while this Institute has been funded by the Max Bell Foundation, all boards are required to fund travel, lodging and release time for their delegates. Attached to this e-mail you will find two files: the invitation letter and an enrollment form. Please have attendees print and complete the PDF form and have it sent either by fax or by mail following the instructions on the form. Because spaces available for the Institute are limited, applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. Please ensure that your delegates have their enrollment forms sent in no later than October 23, 2009.
