This workshop is a great way to introduce the reform. It's also an excellent resource for new administrator who've been given the curriculum reform dossier..


I've just updated the site so all ministry documents (to the best of my knowledge) available in English are now linked in the various sections of this site. I've left the original activity we developed for administrators who are newly assigned to a school and are trying to find out the level of familiarity with the QEP and competency-based learning.

Introducing the QEP in 5 steps:

  1. Handout and review the "Essential Conditons for Sucessful Reform" document.
  2. Use "The Education Reform: The Changes Under Way" booklet as an overview/summary of the QEP (Quebec Education Plan).
  3. Use the " Integration of the Principles of the QEP/Reform" rubric by Avril Aitken as a self evaluation rubric to get a 'snapshot' of where the school is at..
  4. View the video "School Reform: The Learner Centered High School".
  5. Continue the discussion and have fun.

* Every school in the province received multiple copies in DVD & HS formats. Use the facilitators guide to conduct the in-service. Remember to use the awareness, application, and planning for action model. Be sure to have hard copies of the QEP on hand.
